This Week's News

*We expect to have a visitor for the day on Wednesday, May 21st.  This is a little girl that may be joining this class next year in first grade.  Another girl!

*We are now revisiting basic number facts and measurement.  We have not left geometry.  I realized we needed to revisit and review or we sooooo quickly forget.  Any opportunity you get to talk about the shape of things, please do so whether they're 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional.

*In conjunction with our unit on living things, we are beginning to study plants.  One activity that we have to look forward to is planting a garden with our mentors.  Ms. VanNoordt will be leading us in this project. We have planted a few seeds that are growing in the greenhouse.  Later we will plant them in our garden.

*We are going to have an end of the year picnic just for kindergarten and first grade!  It will be on the 10th of June (rain date 11th) from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Manchester Rec.  If any of you could help you'd be very much appreciated.  We need chaperones, someone to cook, someone to organize games like Frisbee or whiffle ball, and lots of people to contribute food.  Ms. Loughney and I will make up a sign up sheet to send home in both classes in the near future.  If there is something you know you really want to do let me know any time.
