| Who: Students
in Grades 3-8 What: A ski program (downhill and snowboarding) Where: Bromley Ski area When: Tuesday afternoons, January – mid-March (weather permitting) Dorset students in grades 3-8 may choose cross country, downhill or snowboarding in JISP, a ski program sponsored by the Bromley Outing Club that takes place after early dismissal on Tuesday afternoons for nine weeks in the winter. Sign up for JISP is late in October. The downhill and snowboarding students receive instruction from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., then have free skiing until 4:00 p.m. or at the discretion of the volunteer driver. Volunteer drivers and instructors are always needed. Cross country instruction depends on volunteer instructors. There is a minimal charge for participation. Rental equipment is available to first-time skiers or riders and to those who otherwise would be unable to ski or ride. The program is for everyone regardless of financial need; please ask. The Bromley Outing Club is experienced in providing instruction to special needs students with no age or grade limit. Please note that JISP is not school sponsored. On JISP Tuesdays all students K-8 will be dismissed early, regardless of their enrollment in the JISP Program. Please be sure you have made arrangements for your child on these days. It is also important to have alternate arrangements made for days when the JISP Program is cancelled due to weather-related conditions. For more information, please call the JISP coordinators: Diedre Devries at 867-4191 or Robin Chandler at 867-5579 |
